“Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” - C.G. Jung
Welcome and thank you for visiting. I provide psychotherapy to adults and older adolescents in Oxford and throughout Oxfordshire.
I am a psychoanalytic candidate and a training member of the Association for Group and Individual Psychotherapy (AGIP). I am registered with UKCP (membership number: 2011192314) and am fully insured. I work under the supervision of qualified senior psychotherapists and adhere to the UKCP Code of Ethics and Professional Practice.
In addition to my private practice I facilitate group therapy in a therapeutic community and have extensive experience working in hospitals and forensic settings. I work in a sensitive and trauma-informed way. Areas of CPD include understanding intergenerational trauma, Compassion Focused Therapy and working with sexual abuse and self harm.
Psychoanalysis is centred around the idea that the unconscious plays a big role in our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Our early experiences shape how we relate to others later in life. It may be that patterns of behaviour that felt helpful in the past are now creating challenges for you.
Talking therapy offers a quiet and non-judgmental space to explore your internal world. By expressing your thoughts and dreams freely you may be able bring some unconscious material into awareness, with the process allowing you to transform the way you think and see things.
Working in a collaborative way, we can explore together the difficulties you are facing, with the aim of helping you understand why you act or think a certain way. By looking at how you relate to others and process your experiences, we can consider any changes you may want to make in your life.
People come to me for help with a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through psychotherapy:
My practice primarily offers in-person psychotherapy with online options available upon consultation. Sessions last 50 minutes usually taking place on a weekly or twice-weekly basis and cost £55 per session. I also provide a limited number of low fee spaces for students or those on low income: contact me to enquire about availability. An initial assessment appointment lasts for 50 minutes.
I am based at The Practice Rooms, Summertown in the heart of Oxford easily accessible by public transport and from local carparks.
Thinking about getting therapy can be daunting and overwhelming. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how psychotherapy works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to therapy, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential.
